Celebrations were held on the theme of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’
Chennai, January 28 2018: The event celebrated the magnificence of the north eastern states in India and their native
people. It emphasised on their culture, tradition and the natural beauty. The aspirations of
the drama and literature clubs included understanding the plights that the people
unfortunately face and the unique heritage and diversity offered by the states through
drama and a group discussion.
The ceremony began with a talk by the literature club core on the wealth and treasures
which can be found within our country itself and how the north eastern states are under
appreciated by many people throughout India.
Following this thread, a skit was performed which revolved around the problems
encountered by the people of north eastern states when they migrate to other states in
order to make a living. The skit was very thought provoking and it was neatly executed by
the members of the drama club.
The group discussion which followed saw a wonderful participation by students and faculty
alike. The suggestions offered by the the faculty on reforms for change was enlightening
and beneficial for all present. The event was conducted in three rounds each of which had
its own hero topic. Some of the students really shined throughout these discussions and
were accordingly rewarded with prizes.
Overall, it was a grand success and possible due to the collaboration between the
literature and drama clubs as well as the active participation of faculty and students.
