The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) is responsible for promoting transparency, integrity, accountability, and ethical practices within the Institute. Dr. Tapas Sil, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, has been appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Institute by the Director. The CVO acts as the nodal officer for vigilance matters and serves as a link between the Institute, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The office is responsible for examining vigilance-related complaints, facilitating investigations into verifiable allegations, advising the competent authorities, and promoting preventive vigilance measures to ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance within the Institute.

Functions of the Chief Vigilance Officer

  • Receive and examine vigilance-related complaints and information.
  • Collect intelligence regarding corrupt practices, misconduct, or administrative irregularities.
  • Conduct or facilitate investigations into verifiable complaints.
  • Process investigation reports for consideration by the competent disciplinary authority.
  • Refer matters to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), wherever necessary, for advice.
  • Coordinate with investigative agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on vigilance matters.
  • Promote preventive vigilance measures to strengthen transparency, integrity, and accountability within the Institute.

The Institute provides an online Vigilance Complaint Portal for submitting vigilance-related complaints. Complainants may choose to register a complaint using their credentials or submit an anonymous complaint, as applicable. All complaints will be processed by the Office of the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in accordance with the applicable vigilance guidelines.
